Rough idle LV help GEN 4

Postby tysonnn » Sun Jul 12, 2015 4:26 pm

Hi guys need some help,

GEN4 Liberty GT EJ20Y - 5 spd Manual

First time posting -
Car has been experiencing a shaky idle for a while now - looking for the fix:

What I've already tried:
- Changed 02 sensor from G88 (revised part number)
- Smoke test - (No signs of vacuum leaks)
- Fuel filter and fuel pump change
- NGK Iridium Spark plugs at 175,000kms

Note: After all this saw a improvements in the rough idle, especially after changing the 02 sensor, still bumpy on idle.

Car has now 197,000kms and I've just done a timing belt and water pump change.
Also experiencing some low load knock - but probably just some phantom knocking

I have a learning view before fuel filter/pump and timing belt change and an LV afterwards.
Saw a difference , but the idle is still bumpy...

What else can I be checking to sort out this problem and have the car running right?

Cheers

Those positive numbers show the ecu is adding more fuel to get the desired afr, which in turn means there is more air getting in than expected, not air lost which a smoke test is designed to find. Or injectors are playing up and not giving as much fuel as they should.
Negative learned values are what typically indicate an air leak.

Do you have an aftermarket intake system?

Cheers mate,

Oh yeah that makes sense thanks man
I have a HKS Super Hybrid air filter - do you think thats whats causing the increased air intake on the low load/revs?
How will I be able to diagnose injectors?
Would it be worth getting them ultrasonically cleaned?
