I had a thought, can you read info from the TCU?

Because I rest my phone between the steering column and the instrument panel, I cant see the gear indicator.
Is it possible to have a digital display that shows current gear?

Anyone know how to make the square gauges? It just comes up with round ones on my phone and I might just be being a noob, but I cant make any of them square.

It's in the manual iirc a long press in fields config menu... Link for manual in the op.
In other news:
I've upgraded to a galaxy S2 and very simply used the backup restore function and dropsync app to reinstall my gauge screen in the new phone.
The video out from the sgs i9000 was a bit patchy, the s2 has mhl, and I'm waiting on an mhl to RCA for displaying gauges on the stock Nav...

The developer is also working on a new module, BTSense which will allow external gauge 0-5v outputs to be displayed on btssm.
We're hoping for serial compatibility for innovate etc as well.

I've also suggested a module for triggering relays, eg for switching watersprays and failsafes.
Anyone out there who could help with that?

On an unrelated topic... another "coming soon" enhancement that the developer is working on is the ability to add Android "Widgets" into BtSsm as gauges.

For example - you could add the android music play/pause buttons and a clock. Handy as I play all my music from the tablet and don't want to have to quit Btssm to skip a song...

Hey nice!
Long live the 64gb mSD card ;)
I'm looking for a gps speed widget now!!!

Any other special things you're doing with btssm?
Like custom parameters: the latest posts on LGT have some great how to info...

Also: I took a passenger seat and finally dialled in my corrected speed gauge.
Not sure how the logic works but I'm 9% out at 100kph and used -3.5 in btssm settings...

- BETA feature: android widgets available on your specific device can be displayed in BtSsm. Go to Fields / Add / Android Widget (cynner)

Sweet! Have been playing with the android widget feature... it's very "beta" but managed to get it working after about half an hour of messing about...

I've suggested he make his own custom widgets within BtSsm for a clock and media controls...
Have also suggested he remove the restriction preventing gauges being moved to under the field list on the right hand side (as this is just an empty space that I can't move any gauges into).

You can suggest anything you damn well like...

Chances are, most of it will be implemented, eventually :P

Starting to have a bit more of play with it, but because I am running it on my Galaxy S4 the screen is a bit small to add too much stuff. And the battery takes a hit because I am using OTG and Tactrix for the data. I have to say this is really hand for logging though. I like the automatic WOT logging feature.

Hey guys, can someone help me out, struggling to get some custom fields running right on the btSsm

Car is a GEN 4 GT - 5 spd manual

Got the addresses from Romraider files

Can't seem to get the Intake/Exhaust L&R OCV duty fields right -

Intake OCV Duty Right
Addr - 00003E
Length - 1
Formula - (x*100)/255
Gauge min - 0
Gauge max - 100
Gauge # every - 10

The minimum for the Intake L & R duty and exhaust L & R duty = 9
Shouldn't it equal 0.

Also can't get the gear position field to work right: the value stays at 5 for some reason

Gear Position
Addr - 00004A
Length - 1
Formula - x+1
Gauge min - 1
Gauge max - 5
Gauge # every - 1

Can someone tell me what I've done wrong, and how I can get it to work correctly

Thanks
tysonnn

All I can say is the syntax has to be spot on and the parameter supported by the ECU.

My advice would be to join the discussion on LGT (link in this threads first page) and to look especially at Perscitus' posts as he has a GenV and has custom parameters down pat.

Because I've been known to not include links to topics I discuss here's a big head start for you :)
Perscitus search in btssm thread...

Perscitus posts on lgt (10 pages to filter)
http://legacygt.com/forums/search.php?searchid=15348632
Search thread for "custom field" and see all Perscitus and Heiche's posts on how to :)

Awesome cheers man!
I'll have a look on those links,

Would anyone happen to know how I can find my Calibration ID?
Can only see A2WD002T?

I just set up btssm for my My 05 XT auto foz on my Sony Xperia Z3 running through the tactrix (tablet and Bluetooth later).
I ran into a few problems such as the app not connecting to the tactrix and the Rom not being supported.
Solved the Rom issue by creating an alias to the manual 05 XT as the logging addresses are the same (kind of did this for romraider too).
The usb issue took a while to sort but the developer was extremely helpful. He gave me a few beta version apps for debugging and we saw the z3 handles usb permissions oddly. He wrote an new version if the app that that forced a usb permission request to be asked and granted by the user.

All good going now :)
