Just wanted guys thoughts on Tuners and their experiences..

I am in Syd and currently have no mods except a dump pipe fitted to stock system.

So... What's the plan of action? Incremental DIY or one stop shop drive in drive out? Any budget?

So yes by reputation MSR or G88/Insight, or if etuning Throttlehappy/Kido, Torqued Performance, Shadow (iirc)

You'll need a lot of budget with one approach and plenty of common sense with the other ;)

My experience is with these etuners:

Throttlehappy/Kido: Matt is a tuning savant with a deep approach to special features and getting the most out of the ECU for performance drivability and economy. Tunes for timing and avcs. Great DBW & SI Drive. Excellent value.

Torqued Performance: Eric is a tuning machine, assuming no issues you can be done in 3 or 4 revisions. Boost bias to tunes. Very good value and communication.

I'd be happy to be tuned by any of the dyno tuners I mentioned as well as Coyote in Qld and Cihan in Vic.
This because I have some idea of what I want and can monitor the results...

It's a good idea to invest in a tactrix regardless as the lib will become somewhat less reliable (eg hoses under more duress) with a tune.

But yeah MSR ftw :)

I'm not avoiding the question I just have had time to reply.

I didn't say MRT blew his motor. All I said was that we were given a car that was originally built there that had a blown motor, and we fixed it..and it's still running strong.

Msr or insight for drive in drive out

Matt has some great funky features but depending on your level of commitment / detail his tunes may not be for you

Buddah you're the man :D

I wish we had a smidgeon of your brilliant intellect, truly...

It was just a matter of time before the peanut gallery turned up hay Mick  Maybe a Corporate Banking Manager (Commonwealth Bank ?) could shed some light on the subject or why gb and owen refuse to answer a simple question + wouldn't it be great to get rid of me for a month

I think I will change my forum name to MYTHBUSTERS

I thought it was pretty straight forward about what has happened to Brendan's car:

1. The car had mods and a tune done by MRT

2.The person that owned the car then traded it in.

3. Brendan then bought the car because it had plenty of mods done even though it wasn't running right.

4. Brendan then went about getting it running right...? Correct me if I'm wrong.

MRT is the right choice for some people, and the wrong choice for others. It all depends what your after.

With MRT, you pay a lot, and you don't get much in return.

EDIT: Go with insight, or MSR if you want to travel a bit further. Both are excellent choices.
