I'd like to clear this up. Brandon's car was built by MRT, crate motor from Cosworth. It drank 2l of oil in 1000kms and had a tiny little turbo on it.

We rebuilt his engine from the ground up and built him a custom turbo to suit his power goals and it's been making power reliably ever since.

Thanks for reading....

and what did Brett say I thought you 2 were good friends ?

Thanks for reading

We work very closely together. This is just a very unfortunate example of a build going wrong. The actual problem was that the bores distorted and the bore clearances were rooted.

Fair enough so that could happen to anyone ? So it was a crate motor ? was any other mechining done by MRT in house ?

Opinions need to be backed up by facts correct. Im still interested if it was MRT fault the engine was rooted or Cosworth ?

Im lost :| why would a Cosworth crate motor need to be pulled apart and require machining by MRT isn't a crate motor ready to go without further work ??

Because essentially what a Cosworth crate motor is, is a OEM Subaru block with cossie pistons and rods. Standard crank, standard bearings etc.

Ok I except that but what Im interested in is what did MRT do to the motor that caused the problem ? Did MRT pull the motor/ block down and re build it ?

This is starting to look like the facts are getting in the way of a good story

I don't know what work MRT did. We were given the car many years ago with the instructions to fix the issues.

So there is more than a very good possibility MRT did nothing wrong it was the fault of the builder of the "crate motor" fault ?

YES /NO ?

What type of tuning does the OP require?
Have you read through the pre tune FAQ link in my sig?
Eg Are you modding or staying stock?
Are you wanting turn key or are you getting involved?
Where are you?

Nothing happening  Im just sitting here waiting for a delayed flight and waiting for a few facts that are harder to extract than blood from a stone so we can clear up a perception that MRT rooted a motor
