Flashing Do's and Dont's

Postby weschappy » Wed Apr 09, 2014 11:38 am

Hi guys,
So for my benefit, and other newbie tactrix owner's benefit, I was wondering if people could comment on their advice towards NOT bricking your ecu.
Basically just any advice such as warning signs on ecuFLASH, or maybe not using certain hardware/software, such as running windows parrallel on mac?
I know there are a few people who have had to fork out the money to get their ecu fixed, so let us know how it happened so we can avoid doing the same!

See my pretune checklist for the skinny.

Basically have a good battery in the car, lights and accs off, backup 12v power, backup laptop, a working ecuflash/romraider/LV config/versions, 12v power for the laptop, backup known good ROMs, Test Write to ECU, confirm the first 2 YES/NO's are a YES (thanks Matt) and never EVER key off until successfully flashed.
