Wideband O2

Want to log afr using romraider. So what brand and where do you mount?

There are a few on the market that work with RR. Have a read of their website for more info. The sensor is mounted in the exhaust but if it's mounted as an extra sensor or in place of your standard sensor will depend on your ECU set-up. Again there's a fair bit of info on both RR and here about logging with a wideband.

I described the technique here and on Wrx club :)
First choose & install your wbo2.
Log the serial or 0-5 output to pin 8 or the 2.5mm jack on the tactrix.
Use RR plugin (serial) or scaling formula for 0-5v.
Adjust wbo2 output using spacers if required.

A gauge with serial output is the easiest/ most compatible method.

Do you have a preference to which brand? I'm not really interested in a gauge. I was thinking the AEM inline as it has no gauge and doesn't require calibration. Also I was thinking of mounting it just before the CAT in the dump.

I'm on AEM failsafe 30-4900 hidden but displayed on vbg1.
The 0-5v can be logged via pin 8 or the mini jack for either standalone or to laptop via USB.
The AEM also always logs itself in a 60min loop.
If serial controller eg lc-2, you have to use serial to USB cable to laptop for logging afaik.
Either way there can be issues with "accuracy" and also the life of the sensor due to the location of the wbo2 in the dump.
One reason a display is a good idea so you can keep tabs on afr regardless of whether you're logging or not.



Using a wbo2 as a substitute for the factory O2 sensor sounds like a great option assuming its possible.

Hmm, now I'm thinking I should get a unit that supports the BOSCH LSU 4.9 sensor :? From my reading it is superior and doesn't require fresh air calibration.

I believe most support that sensor as most packages run the bosch 4.2 already, ie aem and innovate. It's just a matter of a phone call or email to innovate or aem to confirm.

4.9 over 4.2 benefits are mostly in the lean area, are they not? Since you'll only be using it to log, while the ecu still uses the std O2 for closed loop....you may be just wasting money on that one.

Cheers. Makes sense.

So where are people mounting the sensor? I'm thinking just before the CAT in the dump but it may be still too close to the turbo? Most reading suggests they should be 16 inches from the turbo. The room I have seems around 10inches.

Fresh air calibration is simply done whilst coasting so it's no biggie :)
