Really? You may be right, but I find that hard to believe.
How would they mix such large volumes of fuel on site when the only access to the tank is via a 10cm hole in the ground. Thered be no way to stir it through.

Interesting. I couldnt imagine the dodgy united servo near my house having anyone capable of mixing fuel

I guess the answer to the issue of consistancy is to use the same united whenever possible. I have one near my house so ill predominately use it. And as i was tuned on that servos P100, so i should be ok provided they remain consistant. :D

Thank you for creating this thread!!

I too, have come across this fuel and am wondering if it is safe to use for the long haul.. Since I've used it, my engine does seem to run a bit smoother and I'm getting about 510kms from a tank.

I've emailed Matt and he said it is fine.

Guess what is making me a little bit weary is this site http://www.fcai.com.au/environment/can- ... nd-petrol-. Subaru Liberty GT 2004-2006 is not listed as supported. So does that mean our engine internals will be affected by the chemicals of the ethanol in this fuel?

Thanks guys for the input (in advance)

Dan
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

It's fine.

But you won't get better fuel economy. Ethanol will get you less kms/L. Any improvement in fuel economy is not due to changing to more ethanol.

It's fine to use P100, just not E5 or E10; the RON needs to be above 95 and E5 and E10 are usually 91 or so.

Just found a liberty service station close to home with p100 fuel. I asked matt if I can use this fuel on occasions with current tune, he said yes its ok. Filled up today, yes economy is not good but feel engine prefers the slightly high octane levels and if it helps to reduce knock, I'll be happy to run it more and get matt to tune the car for it when he gets here.

Noticed that the p100 fuel is up to 5% ethanol. So am expecting not to get great economy. I work from home anyway so that doesn't bother me overly.
Cheers

The P100 in NSW is 10% ethanol so must be slightly different.
Once tuned for it Shav, you wont notice much difference in economy. Mine is within 10-20kms per tank of 98 octane.

I can live with that. Hanging for Matt to come to SA now and retune the car.
