Mate, for a few extra pennies, just buy a Tactrix

I've got a crappy $10 ebay job for connecting to my tablet with using Torque, but really that's just wank factor and handy to reset codes while you're driving.

+ 1
Taxtrix can do a lot more then just reading / clearing codes, but still requires a laptop.

I would also like to know the answer to this.

I've been through 3 x $15-20 Ebay Bluetooth OBD scanners (ELM327) which have all ranged from unreliable to non-responsive.
Would like something which works with Torque and no cable, but the next step up from the myriad of Chinese copies appears to be $100-200

Odd that there's none between $20-100? Ideally I'd like to spend $40-60 for something reliable but doesn't have to be accurate to .001 sort of thing.

are there others not listed at: http://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Bluetooth_Adapters ?

Maybe this? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... ink:top:en

Personally I went all out and bought the OBDLink MX, but it is pricey. Maybe the LX would be similar in quality/reliability? I wasn't aware of the LX it looks like a good choice just missing support for a few (unneeded?) items.

Anyway my MX seems to work very well and supports fast update rates as well.

The only issue I have had is it appears to go to sleep and never wakes up sometimes (have to pull it out of the OBD port and plug it back in). But I think it actually might be Torque Pro causing this as it messes with the adaptors sleep settings, and I can't find a way to customise the sleep settings in torque (you can change the adaptors settings with the ELM327 terminal app - but Torque keeps overriding my custom settings!! :angry2: )
