Cables to Log

Postby Boostaddict » Tue Oct 15, 2013 9:41 pm

Hey Peeps

I bought myself a little Windows Surface Pro tablet thingy for work. It runs windows 8 pro. ( I think, latest thing apparently )

I want to see if I can use it to do some logging as ive been convinced its a good thing and im moving over to the dark side to start learning about the tunes etc etc.

Now this Tablet thingy only has a USB port and that's it.

Any of those tatrics or what ever cables work with that??

you may need to play around with drivers....but yes tactrix runs off USB ( mini usb from tactrix to USB )...

If you get a AFR setup going you'll probably need a serial to usb converter....I use digitech from jaycar...pricy...but has driver support and is put well together...unless your AFR kit runs off a different port setup or has usb compatible already..

Are you already tuned and just want to log to monitor your car, or wanting to log just to do/learn how it works?

Really all Im looking at doing is just logging and learning for a while.

I have a CEL that keeps on re occurring and then just switching off if I drive around for a bit, so just want to have a look at whats doing in the computer.

For someone who claimed to want to learn months ago, you haven't seemed to do much learning.

Dan....

You can log in RR using your default 02 sensor which essentially is a wideband so to speak....

OR purchasing a proper wideband AFR kit "aftermarket"...installing it you can enable RR to use that instead as another input parameter and/or use the software that comes with the kit.....e.g aem, innovative...etc...etc

So using the info from the AFR gauge in the dump pipe, instead of and in conjunction with the factory stuff.
