I have a 2.5i liberty (2008) and would like to find an OBD2-Bluetooth adapter that would work, preferably something under $50.
Would like it to either be compatible with some sort of iphone app or windows 7 (as I would either connect with my phone or a netbook).

Could anyone recommend one?

You could use either.

Just confirm v1.5 is canbus compatible.

Something like this doesn't stipulate version but makes mention on CAN compatibility is more important to me.

While you are on ebay picking up a cheap OBD bluetooth module, grab an android phone. Just make sure it has bluetooth and GPS (not AGPS) then you can use the Torque app.
I have a phone mounted on the windscreen just above the dash and it displays 6 gauges simultaneously. It turns on with the ignition and sleeps other times. The only issue I have with it is in hot weather, when the car has been parked, it wont charge, just complains the battery is to hot. I must make a little shade for it.

Great tip and the info I was seeking!
I'm planning to do this with an appropriate video out adapter for the Android phone/tablet to the factory nav aux video input so I can get Torque on the nav screen.

Additionally the android phone/tablet could connect to the web via personal hotspot broadcast from iPhone etc...

If you have an iPhone you need a wifi model instead of bluetooth. iPhone's are funny with their bluetooth unless you're jailbroken.

Also, just an FYI

it's also worth noting that the device continues to draw power even when the vehicle is shut off. It's not enough to drain a good battery overnight, but it may be a problem if you have an older battery or don't drive your vehicle very often.

I only drive the car every few days, sometimes less and I got a flat battery when I left it plugged in - not sure if the more expensive ones are better with power or turn off. but the cheap one doesn't

Torque is android only, Rev is what you want for iPhone and it's around $40 unless once again you're jail broken
