I have a phone mounted on the windscreen just above the dash and it displays 6 gauges simultaneously. It turns on with the ignition and sleeps other times. The only issue I have with it is in hot weather, when the car has been parked, it wont charge, just complains the battery is to hot. I must make a little shade for it.

Note:, I have never installed a sim so there is no on-going cost.

Hi Matt do they display boost?

That's Bryce, and yes I imagine they do!

it's also worth noting that the device continues to draw power even when the vehicle is shut off. It's not enough to drain a good battery overnight, but it may be a problem if you have an older battery or don't drive your vehicle very often.

I only drive the car every few days, sometimes less and I got a flat battery when I left it plugged in - not sure if the more expensive ones are better with power or turn off. but the cheap one doesn't

I drive my car once maybe twice a week and haven't had any problems with a cheap USB one (always has at least one light on), wireless ones might draw more, I'm not sure, but it is a problem, if your battery is poor.

Hi Matt do they display boost?

Actually this is Bryce, and yes. I just ducked out to the car and snapped the piccy below.
TOP - Coolant Temp, Volumetric Efficiency, and Vacuum / Boost.
BOTTOM - Litre/100k, GPS Speed, and OBD Speed

The Vacuum / Boost changes its displayed name to boost and the manifold pressure becomes positive.

Hey Bryce, what is the issue with AGPS? I have torque pro on my HTC Wildfire S (cheap nasty work phone), it works and I believe that it has AGPS support. I am looking at a tablet that has GPS with AGPS support that I would be expecting to run Torque on.

Hi Alex,
The only problem is that there are some units that only have AGPS and not GPS. AGPS uses local cell towers for location and can be a useful addon to a GPS as it help find its location faster when initially turned on. A unit with only AGPS needs a SIM and then only has general location info, not detailed enough to give a give a speed readout.

Wonderful, thanks for clearing that up for me Bryce, I had a feeling that's what you ment but until you mentioned it I had never thought that there might be different types of GPS modules :)

With the one I bought, the little red led light stays on even when the car is off.
