2.5 GT Tuuune in WA

Postby Martymuso » Mon Dec 17, 2012 12:18 am

Hey peeps,

My lib is in need of a tweak as I got an occasional splutter when accelerating from low down in the revs and what I think is a bit of turbo lag. I live south of the river in Perth WA, and as I am still new to Aus I was hoping I could get some advice on places to go for tune ups / remaps and what the costs are for these cars?

Someone mentioned maximum performance to me and said they were pretty good. Can anyone give a rough idea of what to expect for remaps here?

Also has anyone else experienced this hesitant response when accelerating from low down?

Also ... lol... My car has a ceramic dump pipe fitted and performance air filter, but nothing else that isn't stock. If this was fitted without a tune / remap... could this cause the issue I am experiencing?

Cheers all, appreciate discussion and feedback here :)

Do you mean send me a file and upload it into the car myself??

Wouldn't you need to tweak things specific to my engine and stuff? I am good with tech as far as flashing roms n things but tuning cars is something I know little about !

Please explain if possible.

Still loving that tune from Matt. Also got a followup tweak recently to address a tiny bit of knock that came up during the hot weather.

Matt's skills and customer service are awesome!
Started with a Gen2 Outback, then got a MY07 GT Spec.B Manual w Cat Back Exhaust and Verso Tuned, now got 2 kids and a MY07 GT Auto Wagon, Ultrex stealth back exhaust, panel filter, Whiteline Sways all round, Spec.b struts and springs and Kido-Tuned.

I got a rough price from Maximum Motorsport for $1695 which was an Ecutek tune and remap to the standard ECU. I like the Kido idea but I really would like someone on the spot with workshop to test the tune and tweak there and then to avoid any issues.

Having never done a ECU remap / upgrade except for a in line chop I had once on my car back in the UK... what the worsed case when trying to do this with regards to it going a bit wrong?

ASG can do it for 1100 too.
I just like maximum coz they only do subis so know them well.

They are retuning mine this week, the new cat back flows too well and needs more fuel/timing.

Good luck.

Nice J.. it will be tweaked up for the meet on the weekend then?

I wish I could get mine done but all ma money is going into me house!

Right now I have my nose pressed up against the window of the modification store and soon that special time will come when I can go inside and actually buy something :D

Advice is appreciated though as I like to get the info together and learn what's what.
