obd2 cables can you use any?
Posted: Sun Dec 02, 2012 7:11 pmhey guys im getting into tuning and just wondering can we use any obd2 cable to flash ecus? or does it have to be the tactrix cable?

Posted: Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:07 pmYou can use any OBD2 cable just make sure it's a good quality one, I wouldn't want to risk my ECU by using an el-cheapo cable. You get what you pay for! For flashing an ECU I wouldn't use anything other than Tactrix personally...

Posted: Mon Dec 03, 2012 8:40 amPretty sure for MY07 models you needed Canbus, the el-cheapo cables won't allow you to flash so Tactrix is you're only option... not sure about logging etc.
I'm 2005 model so elcheapo works, but... if I was doing a lot of flashing, I'd get a tactrix regardless too, the el cheapo has a habit of falling out/not making the greatest of connections.
