Getting started MY10 GT tune - help

Postby ScoobyDoo » Sun Nov 11, 2012 8:07 am

Gday,

Newbie to the Club Liberty forums, so hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I have a MY10 2009 Liberty GT (auto), I've just finished up the finance period and decided that, after looking around at new cars, that I really love my car. The only down side is that I'd like a little more performance out of it, hence looking into tuning.

The car is my daily drive, so I'm trying to retain the practicality of the car (i.e. no exhaust drone) while making it a bit more fun to drive. Wondering if there is any advice on getting started with the tune, suggested mods, lessons learnt from your experience, and maybe recommended tuners. I'm based in Melbournes East (Ringwood way).

Oh, and fuel economy, I understand that some ECU tunes do wonders for fuel economy over the standard tune. Would be interested to hear results.

Cheers.

Anyone care to share their first tune? Results, recommendations, lessons learned?

Details for Matt's (KiDo_Tuning) tune can be found here and here
I think Matt is great he has done wonders for my car, fuel economy - no massive change but that may have more to do with the nut behind the wheel.
Xtreme Racing Tuning (west_minist) do tunes as well their web page is here, they seem to have a lot of good feed back for N/A 4's and the 6's. Can't comment at all on them as I have never even spoken to them.
There may be others but that's all I know off the top of my head without searching.
Search in the forum their names and see what people are saying, see if anyone with the same car has anything to say. Good luck
