Hey mate. I have asked this question a few times on here and all of the answers basically say 'no', however if you're willing to swap a lot of parts of your car it can work.... or so I've heard . You need to change the throttlebody, wiring loom, and it's not a certainty that the ABS module will function on the new ECU. (Thanks KiDo

Got the same issue, did you find out anything more on the hitachi ECU if its tuneable etc and also if there is anyway to swap it ?

Nup just gave up and went turbo conversion

Hitachi is a 16bit ECU, so think a mid 90's 486 home pc.

Denso is 32bit so is an AMD Phenom by comparison. Just like a home pc, it is everything working together so you need to swap everything

That said... Hitachi MAY be tuneable via some trickery if I find some spare time
