Hi there is it possible to swap from a hitachi ecu to a denzo one for tuning purposes?

Hey mate. I have asked this question a few times on here and all of the answers basically say 'no', however if you're willing to swap a lot of parts of your car it can work.... or so I've heard :). You need to change the throttlebody, wiring loom, and it's not a certainty that the ABS module will function on the new ECU. (Thanks KiDo ;)

Hitachi is a 16bit ECU, so think a mid 90's 486 home pc.

Denso is 32bit so is an AMD Phenom by comparison. Just like a home pc, it is everything working together so you need to swap everything

That said... Hitachi MAY be tuneable via some trickery if I find some spare time
