Been chasing my tail with a potential boost leak somewhere. Get a odd whooshing noise after exhaust modifications, took intercooler and other intake parts off at the same time. Any thoughts on whether I need to worry or not?

Sounds like your by pass valve noise. If so, you have nothing to worry about as it's normal sound. Im no expert on reading LV's but there is no visible knock I can see and the IAM is spot on at 1.0. But again, Im no expert and someone else may have more experience on the matter.

Doesn't look to have any significant boost leaks there. Your fuel trims are very close to zero, so all seems to be working rather nicely.

Small note - your tuner could zero out the top load area fuel trim corrections...otherwise you're running a bit rich in open loop.

Yea its not pullig any timing and only a couple of percent off so nothing seems super wrong. Got a few video's of the noise i'm experiencing over in this thread. Its getting tuned by Matt this friday so he should be able to sort that part out. Hence the rush to try decide whether its a problem or not. Could it be the wastegate prematurely opening right up giving the short woosh just before getting into positive boost pressure?

It's been a very long time since I've seen one like this from my Lib :P
Stage 1 of my maintenance, service and reliability mods completed.
AVO TB hose installed with Oetiker stepless screw clamps on the stock tmic (stock one was apparently ok though), torn stock inlet pipe replaced with a good low K stock item. Mine had a 2cm tear at the compressor inlet end. Working but gunky PCV valve replaced with a cleaned low K item.

And she's fixed! :good:

I just replaced the cylinder 3 coil pack with a low K second hand item.
All good now, thanks for the advice and encouragement, looking forward to the next mods ;)

Just an update on the TBSTI.... Was advised that the fuel pump could be causing my issue, unwillingly I hardened up, dove back in the fuel tank and replaced the PSI pump with the stock pump last week. After about 150km of driving or so LV still looks quite normal, seems to be resolved. The fuel correction at MAF 5.6g/s is still trimming back down, alls well.

Now just ordered some replacement OCV solenoids as they aren't shot completely, just one side does noticeably lag behind the other. :D

After replacing the faulty coil pack, holed inlet and cracked head breather balance pipe...
Still need to install new plugs, and make a custom BtSsm exhaust sensor diagnosis logging profile.
If required I'll replace the sensors.

There's still some (off boost mainly) FBKC happening, eg 6th gear cruising on the freeway, if I dab the throttle I get up to -11 FBKC (FKC in BtSsm).
I'm intrigued, this issue was evident before all the recent fixes which have at least cleared up FLKC :good:
Here a dropbox link to a MegaLogViewer MS scatter graph of the issue:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/go4n161mh2hh7 ... M.jpg?dl=0
And the log itself.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4yn28kgw4n6la ... d.csv?dl=0

MegaLogViewer allows for an insane amount of granularity as regards analysing and filtering logs, but I dont think I'll divine the issue until I get the exhuast sensor profile setup.
It would be easy to just get new sensors but I really want to understand the issue, diagnosis and fix.

Feel free to advise!

Is it actually fbkc ? mine at low load .8 to 1.1 at 2000-3000rpm sometimes pulles 12 deg timing out and I think its phantom knock, I have reduced timing in that area with no change

I've asked Matt about it, ages ago.
Its possibly related to premptive knock control.
http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8509
When I had the inlet leak issues etc, I'd get FLKC between 2000-2700rpm.
For now, thats cleared up but still FBKC.
I want to get the plugs in and do the zorst sensor diagnosis before contacting Matt for his opinion...

Throttle tip in or injector pulse width

Lean knock is what my guess is

Either tip in parameters / ipw in the tune, or mechanical fault with one or more of:
1. Rear 02 / lambda (post dump pipe cat - ie af #3 sensor)
2. Afm
3. Aggressive throttle opening from aggressive throttle maps causing noise for feedback

Thanks, Boss.
Iirc it's in all modes, which may rule out #3.
Easy enough to clean the maf again, again, re #2.
Will extract digit, log, diagnose, replace zorst sensors re #1.

Pretty obvious given the cars age.

Anyone else need sensors and wants to split shipping? :)

Have had a tune done by Matt for the decat. Got the latest revision from him last night so that will hopefully sort out the FLKC table. But definately think there is an intake leak now with that -9 in the 5.6-15 region. Guess it sort of makes sense since the noise I hear is only really at low airflow ranges as the turbo is just getting into positive pressure with mild acceleration.

Any thoughts on where to look for a leak that only shows up in that range? Could it be the BPV failing? Seems to be only audible when just starting to make positive boost pressure
