Once you have driven a Ferrari California, all other gear shifts seem painfully slow. :(

That twin clutch gearbox is so sweet, there's nothing else like it :D

The GTR R35 is pretty close to the Ferrari and a hell of a lot cheaper.

I am in the middle of getting an MY05 3.0R 5EAT tuned by Matt thru Bryce at Kido. Mine is non-stock and the auto shift points were impacted by the addition of boost and no amount of hard tuning could fix it. One ECU flash later from Matt, and the behaviour has improved. Still further to go with the full tuning of engine and auto and looking forward to better days ahead.

Prior to Matt's tune, car would pull 5.96 sec from 0-100. Auto box has been rebuilt with 2-3 additional plates in each clutch pack, plus line pressures increased by 20%, same for the centre diff, so now keen to get a proper tune for both engine and box. Been waiting for an eternity for a good engine/auto tuner! Work in progress and will update my build thread as I go:

Just tuned a forum members mechanically stock 04 LGT... who said the 5EAT could not be smooth, firm and responsive! 0.32 seconds for a full WOT shift and the turbo spools below 1500rpm if needed on stock exhaust lol

I have no doubts that even the current revision is light years ahead. Just need to lock down the throttle tables to suit a supercharged motor volumetric efficiency!

Just had a play in sport mode and both up and down shifts are quick compared to stock. The slowest part of the shift is now the display! In normal mode, display changes first (like an advertisement), then within a half second, the shift occurs. But there was only very modest throttle angles (granny style) below 60kph driving and no WOT.

Under WOT, I am luvin the auto now!

Got my stock 04 Auto GT tuned today by Matt.

The difference is night and day, shift changes are lightning compared to stock! Smoothness of power delivery have also improved heaps.

Definitely recommend Matt's tune to anyone.

Still getting the low rpm spool? Logs were showing 4psi by 1800rpm on WOT

Anything up to 2 hours, usually less but really comes down to ensuring the car is put through a variety of conditions to ensure the tune is safe yet powerful.

Yup! Im still getting used to it, so good turning out of traffic lights and being on boost straight away.

I don't know why people don't do it sooner! Best money I've spent on my lib to date.

I don't think there was anyone with Matt's knowledge and experience available to do this sort of ECU/TCU tuning for the autos. I have been looking on and off for a couple of years with no luck. So, finally, we have a new lease of life for the auto fraternity! :D

I have also been tuning a built USDM 08 engine with upgraded turbo with stock 5EAT who is now running my DBW tables, he has also confirmed ClimberD's research into raising the RT values may be incorrect since the USDM car is now shifting perfectly fast and logically... without the hexmods valve body ;)

Well... seems the 5EAT is capable of smooth, firm and fast shifts :)

these are fast shifts with far more power.

Mine is already the same as the vid you put up, its been tweaked but is too laggy when you are attempting to take control of which gear you want to be in.

Had my 5EAT tune and engine tune done by Matt last night and It is slick and smooth in both auto, sport and manual modes. Because I have done the valve body mod more that 1 year ago, and during the recent transmission rebuild, the line pressure was raised by 20%, I still have some residual (read minor) shift harshness in the 2-3 gear shift, but I have to actually induce it. I can live with this, but not sure Matt can! He is a perfectionist and we are lucky to have his talents available to us.

Get on this you 5EAT guys! It is awesome. Probably no need to do any other mod before getting Matt's DBW tune.

I could have saved about $1400.00 by not having the valve body mod done. Well, we live and learn!

I just got mine done by Matt, awesome work

if it wasn't for the engine noise, i wouldn't have known the car changed gear

and the (auto) downshift 2 gears quick to the right one as I wanted it, eg 5th to gear

I can over take without hesitation, and power feel like it is ready to go
