Tune 2.5t dump pipe and air filter

Postby crowds74 » Sun Apr 22, 2012 12:45 pm

Hi I have been told i will get an extra 25 kw atw after tune, dump pipe, air filter. Is good? does 25 kw make a big difference. Anything else I can do without a huge price tag.
Cheers Tom

You could do a full exhaust instead of just dump.

Also, an upgraded intercooler is not a bad idea. It will help keep your intake air cooler for longer as you under bonnet temps rise, so you aren't losing as much power via heat soak.

There are plenty of different brands around at different prices, like with anything else.

You won't notice any performance gains from the air filter. What's your budget?

See if you can get them to do full exhaust filter & tune for $2500.

Or else full exhaust and tune for $2500.

You can always buy your own filter from somewhere for pretty cheap, either before or after the tune.
Preferably before but as mentioned before it won't make a huge difference so you can always change the filter later without needing a re-tune.

For an indication of price see viewtopic.php?f=38&t=744

Power wise, within that budget, excluding full exhaust, not really.

Maybe upgraded sway bars and/or lower control arm bushes for enhanced handling, whilst not having a negative affect on comfort. Whiteline and Cusco are the two brands almost everyone on here uses.
if you can afford front & rear sways and LCA bushes it would be good.
Otherwise either front and rear sways or rear sway and LCA bushes.

I'd do rear sway and HD mounts as a good mod for your budget.
