I did over 450km on a single tank last week.

If that's not more than half what you're getting now, I reckon you really have a diesel Outback.

OK, had a quick look and they seem to be pretty cheap.

http://www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/inje ... id1000-wrx

And my pump should be OK at 260lph you reckon.

Is there any need for a FPR as well or any other supporting mods for successfully running on E85?

450kms sounds pretty good, though I can sometimes get close to 580kms for a country run. But could live with the lesser range.

I'm interested. But really need to know the pros and cons. I'm not keen on driving back an hour such as Anthony to the nearest fill point due to an app misrepresenting availability of E85.

Or if I'm only going to get half the range due to higher fuel consumption.

I won't rule anything out as I'll be up for a tune soon and know Revzone can and have been doing E85 tuning for a while.

Thought u might try somewhere else lol

Wouldn't be much much given they're probably worn out already after the drags and multiple dyno runs etc. I'm doing you a favour and saving you from putting it out with your hard rubbish.

In all seriousness, let me know I'm sure we can work something out.

I'm sure they've not spent much time above 120% IDC.

While we are all on topic here, we know a bigger pump and injectors are required.

But is there such a thing as going too big?

What if the fuel pump is oversized? Will it just pump out what's required?
What if the injectors are again oversized (ID2000's for example) will it just pump in what's required or does there need to be an optimal range?

I guess what i'm asking and i'm sure it could help others, if there is progressive upgrades being done to the car that requires bigger injectors, can you just go insanely big or do you need to upgrade the injectors/fuel pump that works in a specific optimum range like 60-80% for example?

Thanks guys!

Hey Brian, there a lot of info out there in calculating fuel pump and injector requirements for E85.
Nothing wrong in going too big, having said that, any one of the new type of rotor fuel pumps will be able to deliver anywhere up to 280awkw safely. ie, AVO, Denso, Sard, Aeromotive, Deatschwerks, Walbro.

I have my first fuel consumption test on E85, i filled up 46 lts on Sat and then refilled again on Sun with 20lts . But take it with a grain of salt, as i did take the car to the drags so no doubt skewing the results somewhat.

E85
c/L 123.9
km 456
L 66.13
L/100km 14.50
km/L 6.90
c/km 17.97

A mate has a roundy roundy car that is tuned on pump e85, which as we know could be anywhere from 70-85. We took the car down to Winton Raceway recently with a supply of fuel in jerry cans from the pump. We though were are going to run out so I bought a few drums of the fancy E85 they sold at the track. We debated if it would be okay, or if we would have to add some 98 to it. Turns out it was fine. So the varied ration of ethonol blend does not seem to be too much of a problem.
I am very interested in running mine on E85, but inner city Brisbane doesn't have too many suppliers. I have an avo pump, I would need a suitable fuel rail and a some ID1000s. Tempting though.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

Just looked at that link that Coyote posted, my nearest stockest is some 35-40 min drive away. Don't they know I want to save the enviornment*. F##ked if i am moving from my inner city pad to the boonies for fuel. One would be upset if they bought an eflex Commodore.
