RevZone - Anyone used them and were they OK?

Postby bass_straitener » Fri Nov 25, 2011 10:47 am

Guys,

I'm in the process of determining who to send my car to for installation of a couple of minor mods and a tune.

Whilst I see the majority go to HPF and ART and Springy Motors, I thought I might try someone different to add to the mix.

RevZone in Ringwood has been mentioned to me by a couple of people with WRX's and I'm leaning towards them at the moment.

I have inquired and have been advised their tunes are completely unlocked and the person I spoke to, George, said he's done many Subarus including numerous Libertys.

Has anyone on this forum used RevZone before and can recommend them or should I look elsewhere.

Thanks in advance,

Bruce

Have not heard anything bad about them per se, but MRT do use their dyno when they come down south for their tuning days fyi. Nothing wrong with that.
Just ask whether they lock either the Tune and/or the ECU if you use them.

Thanks for your response Gambit.

Yeah I did hear MRT use them when down in Melbourne.

I spoke to George at RevZone and he assured me the tune is completely unlocked and even warned me off any tuner who locks their tunes.

I've met a few WRX guys who tune their cars through Revzone and they seemed happy and could recommend him but no Liberty owners.

Also Adam at TuSpeed recommended him.

Just thought it might be nice to have a look at some outside of the commonly mentioned names on this forum. It would also give another perspective and another tuner to through in the mix for comparison purposes etc.

Thanks for the feedback GB. Sounds promising.

I've got my car tentatively booked in for 08-12. Will keep the forum posted.

If you get your car there before that a review of their service would be great.

Thanks again.

So they can just run the 1 car on the dyno and flash them both the same
Just kidding I'm sure they would be a lot more professional than that.

Revzone is quite good but they are quite pricey, Quite a few of my mates got there hondas & evos built/tuned there, they have all said good things about Revzone but really expensive!

I had my exhaust done there, as well as my clutch replaced, yes they are quite expensive however very happy with the work done.

I priced the install of the bits I've bought and the tune and I thought the price was comparable to other workshops.

Eg: price quoted for the AVO dump pipe install was the same as what phat reckons it would cost to fit.

Plus I guess I'd prefer to use someone a little bit dearer but does a good job than someone a bit cheaper and I'm not sure about.

A couple of people I respect have said they're good so I'm going with them.

I was actually happy when George requested I install the Walbro fuel pump as part of the works prior to the tune as an insurance policy to ensure against fuel starvation issues and the engine blowing up. Apparently an issue seen previously with Subie fuel pumps not having capacity.

I checked the interweb and noticed a few people get the pump replaced in the early stages of work so reckon he's right on the money. Members such as cpitts have replaced the fuel pump early on when modding their cars as a cheap insurance policy.

So far I'm confident George at Revzone knows his stuff and a Subie tuned by their workshop will add a bit to the knowledge base that is this forum.

Well my car will be trucked there tomorrow they are tuning it and checking the leaks from what I think is cam seals which they would have put in when they built it, so far george has been more than happy to email me back about all the questions I have asked, he might even think I'm a pain in the ass lol

Let us know how it all goes, I might go to Revzone instead of Springy as it's a little closer to me.
