Thanks but wouldn't it be better if I fit stuff in then re-tune?
Also, I thought Paul knows his stuff? Can you recommend anyone else?

The figure of 180kw is at that the wheels....... but that just doesn't make sense and its one of many reason why Pulse's work is questionable....... for example we have similar cars except I have full turbo back, Perrin TMIC, high flow HKS filter, fuel pump and regulator update and when tuned by Pulse I got about 170kw...... which I still think is high....... I also know of bone stock cars that got 200kw after a pulse tune.

To say Pulse knows his stuff is comment which may apply to his earlier work, but lately a number of the cars he has tuned, mine included have all returned for retunes due to fundamental errors….. there is also a number of growing cars which have lost engines due to poor tunes.

Pulse has been given many opportunities to step up sort these issues out, but has shown very little interests.

How do the autos respond to a decent converter? I'd look at that to help the low down responsiveness

With the right tune, they are not needed, unless you’re running big power 220-230kw+

I also have a similar issue with my tune where the car feels very laggy down low and has strong mid-range……. You just need to learn to adjust to that power delivery or have it retuned.

Regarding the original question spend your $$$ on the following:

Retune around $1k
Phat GT Dump pipe $800-900
Cat back exhaust $1500-2500 pending brand, style size etc.

Contact a vendor here Phat GT, he will be able to fabricate/source the parts you will require and also point in the right direction of very good tuner.

E85 is burns a lot cooler which means you can run more boost/timing etc. safely, you will need to factor in a larger fuel pump, regulator injectors and retune.

Yes.

Completely serious.

If the fuel is available to you, it should be the first mod everyone does.

I'd still throw a converter in, will come onto boost quicker, harder and be a step ahead for when you upgrade turbo.

E85 has amazing results, however as I mentioned take into account the mileage you do as you will find your consumption will go up. Having two tunes or a switchable controller will help as availability can still be an issue.

Find a good tuner for e85 that has experience as tuning to afrs is a little different, I've seen a couple way too lean from this

been doing a bit of reading, and was thinking of going with the MRT xB kit.
I've seen some bad reviews of them on this forum, is this still the case or have they gotten better now?

Also, is this possible (xB Kit) after getting the tune from Pulse?
read something about being locked into a tuner's EcuTek or something like that?

Thanks Guys..

Or just save yourself 30% of the price and get a good local workshop to do the work on your car, and buy the parts yourself.

No they are still over priced and crappy. You should see the job they did on my friend's wrx sti in my area.

No you can't, you will need to get your ecu unlocked before you can get it retuned.
