heard this mentioned a few times,
do they ever gives any reasons.
i had a 3-port when using my PowerFC on my GT fozz and also connected to both the Haltech interceptor and Greddy Profec E-01 boostc ontroller on my legacy and had perfect boost control in all 3 situations.
Not to mention it makes the vacuum line plumbing a little simpler without the need for tee pieces, restrictor pills and such.
Did you mean to say reasons, or excuses?
The way late model Subaru ecus control boost is more complex than simply entering a boost target and a few duty cycles. I have a 3 port on my car and you can get a great result ... but even if you do have a really good handle on how the system works, you're just not going to get it right in 5 minutes.
If you are going to use the factory ecu to control boost (and there are lots of reasons why this is a good idea), unless your tuner has a proven ability to get rock steady boost in all gears using a 3 port and happily agrees to tune your 3 port to this level when quoting a price, just leave the standard stuff in there.
Or, start reading and do it yourself. It's not that hard, just time consuming.
