Michael South Engineering

Postby jacks-GTB » Mon Jul 18, 2011 12:21 am

howdy,

I'm booked in on the 5th of august for a reflash with MSR. I spoke to him and he seems confident with some decent power & torque gains. He's only 20mins away from where i live so there is a huge gain there, instead of driving to pulse..

anyways i''ll post up the readout after the tune..

anyone had any feedback for us??

:D :D :D

A lot of guys on Rexnet have used him with some very positive reviews. I've met him and think he is pretty stand up guy. He certainly knows his Subaru's!

from the quote i got he doesnt charge much, compared to some anyway, very reasonable price, and he does have a dyno, its a mainline one. checkout his website. He really knows his stuff and if his rally results are anything to show for it, he clearly knows his subarus very well.

yeh he does a dyno, i've heard alot of feedback from rex guys. he is quite cheap. He is charging me $800 for a reflash. Michael told me that i should do an intake pipe on top of the TBE & bigger top mount i already have. :D :D

he said that i should get the same figures as pulse(190-210kw atw), without the new fuel pump that pulse told me to get. Michael told me that pulses dyno reads out about 10kw more than his mainline dyno.

can't wait ...!!!!!!!

I'll be interested in your thoughts/results as I may consider this tuner as well.

Thats really not that cheap. About consistent with most tunes, at least in Vic anyway. Im looking at full dyno tune for $800.

Ive also read good reports on MSR.

yeah, pretty sure the $800 is for a full dyno tune... fair bit cheaper than pulse... and well lets not mention the 3 letter wallet destroyers

well around in sydney i got a few quotes for dyno tune,

Croydon Racing - $1800 Full Dyno
Pulse Racing - $1600 inc New fuel Pump
MRT - DIDN'T Bother

So i thought for me to go to Michael South, which he's only down the road. It's quite cheap to me. It's about 3-4 Hrs to tune.
