Another happy camper with HP-F

Postby brainy » Thu Jul 07, 2011 11:39 pm

So i got my tune done today at Horsepower Factory in Dandenong and was recommended by a friend of mine who got his Forrester done there a couple of years ago as well as a few boys on here.

Definitely feel a difference in the drive. It feels smoother and nice to drive.

The image doesn't seem to be re-sizing atm so i'll have another go at it and post it tomorrow if anyone is interested.

That's great to hear! The important thing is that you are satisfied. :D

What did they use to tune it? OpenECU or EcuTek?

YOU'RE NOT A DYNO CHART! GET OUT OF HERE!

This thread is from now on out of bounds until Brian produces a dyno chart, because I'm sick of his teasing
I think he's doing it on purpose as he knows from meeting me last weekend that I'm a few weeks off getting one done from HP-F

Anyway, there it is.
Apexi Intake
3" Phat Dump
3" Custom Center split to 2x 2.1/4

Definitely more fun to drive.

I should be finished with mine and ready for a tune in a few months Nelson.

Maybe we can get a special bulk discount. :D

I'm probably 3-6 months got 2 buy the wife another car before I can justify spending more on mine. So you can let me know how you go first Mark.

Sorry Brian don't mean to highjack your forum. Although I'm curious. I assume you have stock mufflers? If so how does this affect overall performance in terms of restriction. Also curious to know what it sounds like.

Hey no offence taken!

I've spoken to a few people that have had liberty's done there, as well as a forrester and wrx and they were all happy.

As for your other question, the rear mufflers are also custom. Although they are still a straight through type, they have an S bend in them and glass packed (I think that's what it is) to cut the noise down. The previous mufflers they put on were a chambered type and it was crazy boomy (weren't on for very long at all, it was part of the trial and error phase).

In all honesty, the graph shows me a max power and a smooth line with a good increase, but unfortunately I would have loved to have known what the torque is now as i don't think there's a way to work it out (unless someone knows how to??). :(

I had my car tuned at HPF and can attest to their tunes being excellent. Great fuel economy and power when needed without issues re: idling, part throttle, backing off etc etc that can potentially be an issue with a tune.
