The fundamentals of tuning are the same, if I was in nsw he would be my tuner of choice.

Went with PULSE. Simply because they could fit me in on a weekend I was already driving down from Bathurst so I didn't have to make a separate trip. Will post results after I get it done in a few weeks.

Went to pulse yesterday. I have a turbo back Hks exhaust system including a phat dump pipe. Was 130awkw stock and after tune I got 193.9awkw. Will post dyno graphs when home.

Yeh I was gonna say, that figure looks way too high for just exhaust mods!

I have heard and seen enough to convince me that pulse have a very happy dyno, however a dyno figure is not the important thing, the grin on the owners face is important. I have head from plenty of people who drive out of pulse with a big grin. The actual curve of the power graph tells a story far more than the numbers on the side of the chart.

very true .. at the end of the day dyno just a tool ..

i guess the big smile will go when you sit in another Liberty thats got same power as yours on the dyno chart ... yet drives and feel more powerful then your car ..

anyway as long the the owner is happy thats the main thing ~

Or you start throwing fault codes, then run a diagnostic to find your car is actually pretty sick and you can't fix it because the tune of locked and your tuner won't return calls.

I've got a queue of people in that very situation wanting me to look at their cars. They have all been tuned by people you've heard of.

Do NOT get tuned by ANYONE who locks their tunes, but have the decency to respect someone's work if they don't go and lock it on you.

So true Tony ….

That almost sounds like my car ….. and worst thing they don’t even tell you up front that it will get locked …. Only to find out the hard way … !!

Yes, even when asked directly the "lockers" all seem pretty evasive.

I have no issue with someone not wanting a well developed tune shared freely on the Internet, in fact that banner you see at the top of this page was my suggestion to Ric. However, I suspect a lot of tuners lock tunes to hide how little they've done, rather than some wonderful tuning secrets.

A true custom tune unique to a specific car is just that and pretty useless to anyone but the person it was made for. In these cases, you really have to question locking a person out of their own ecu.
