WiFi OBD-II to iPhone

Has anyone tried those OBD-II wifi adapters and then using the apps on iPhones like REV to view ECU data, reset engine codes etc?

For $100 for a cable that i can use on both mine and my wife's car (which often needs codes reset - thanks to Renault's over sensitive settings) it seems like not a bad way to go.

I'm assuming it will draw power via the cable so can't be plugged in all the time (shame).

Anyone tried this before?

Never tried one, but I've just purchased a $25 one from eBay that comes with free software.

They are only able to connect to the engine ECU however as the other systems in our cars use SSM3 protocol, whereas the engine ECU uses the normal OBD2 protocol.

I'll let you know how it goes when it arrives! :D

EDIT: The one I purchased is OBD2 to USB for my laptop.

I use the bluetooth one as my phone is android.
Good for reading data and stuff.

ODBKey is the brand i got which supports the gen 4's.

If you are serious about getting something, i'd recommend the USB type. While the bluetooth one is good for seeing stuff and resetting ecu codes, there are more apps out there that only support USB connections.
