Postby IT50VR » Tue May 03, 2011 2:41 pm

Hey guys i have a stock 05 liberty GT, it only has a SPT air intake on it.
i went and got a quote to have the ECU flash tuned just for better performance, fuel economy, better bottom end.
I was quoted $1400 is that too much?
can you recommend places in syd and rough ideas on prices?

thanks.

I can confirm that Michael is a pretty nice guy and certainly knows and looks after his Subaru's. After the 15min chat we had when he came over to pick up some floor mats I was certainly surprised with his amount of knowledge... Then I found out who he actually is LMAO.

going by the price he was quoted above, I am guessing he had already gone to Pulse.

Speak Phat GT he will be able to point you in the right direction.

I wouldn't recommend getting a tuned map loaded onto your ecu as every car is different, especially after a few years of wear and certain driving conditions, but in Adelaide places just change the map for like $300. To get a proper flash, dyno run and tune from the base specs then $1400 is about right. I've heard people here in Adelaide getting about 8-10 hours on the dyno for $1200-1300 with a full tune for their car.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Interested to know if you did get a tune what kind of results you got, i have basically the same setup. Ive decided on going with msr, knows exactly what hes talking about, good price etc. With a full wallet id be there next week, but sadly no. heaps hate being an apprentice lol.
