Just trying to get my head around the difference between my car and an STI.
What makes it different apart from the brembo brakes and the EcuTek mapping?

If you do a search there's a thread that has the detailed listing of the differences. But yes, ECU (not EcuTeK) and Brembo's are part of the difference.

If you invest in a tune (not necessarily EcuTeK), it will be far better than the STi one if you're thinking about investing in an ECU tune.

Yes looking into going to Pulse in Sydney. I've read some good things about them on here and at a reasonable price aswell.

Did prefacelift STi even come with Brembos? I thought it didn't.

It didn't. I think Pyramidrocker just wants to be like the post-face lifted STI's with the whole Brembo, exhaust, lip spoiler, etc.
