Do you think bigger injectors would make a difference in power on a stock GTSpecB (which will have a aftermarket dump pipe and DW65c by the time United here gets their E85 tank)? Because I had the feeling Matt thought the stock ones are more than adequate.
I don't mind spending the money, but they're not cheap.

Without a doubt.
My Foz only ran Perrin TMIC and turbo inlet, injectors, DW65C and a down pipe when on E85. All the rest of the mods were handling. The inlet may account for 5 kW at most. And the TMIC, maybe 5? But essentially it was just a VF52, DP, pump, injectors and nectar of the Gods.

Injectors will Definitely make a difference

As far as I can see your stock injectors on e85 will be maxed out at about 12psi which will still make 180 or so awkw

There's another 6-8psi in that with bigger injectors, which on e85 and a 2.5 with a vf46 is about 30-40awkw

They're not that expensive. Id1000's can be had for $400 odd if you look

Install on a postfacelift is relatively easy (although a bit of time)

Eric tuned my Foz on E85 to 21 psi (VF52). Made a hell of a difference over the 19 psi for the 98RON tune.
Obviously a lot more to it than just peak boost, but it's just for comparative reasons.

Yeah but he still has a vf46 so I wouldn't go past 19

Says the guy running well over 350 kW

In any case, bigger injectors and E85 = so much win!

Ran 20psi on vf46 and id1000s.

Just running e85 on stock injectors might actually have less top end as compared to an aggressive pump tune...which would be a pretty dissaponting, knowing it's just the injectors holding you back.

If you're going off my dyno readings - as Mick said, there's about 30kw in those injectors for a stockish gtb and without them, goodluck seeing any top end gains.

Does this apply to us N/A H6ers too Mick?
I'm running 85, KiDo, Raptor headers & Raptor CAI (in near future).
So would this set-up benefit from larger injectors -or only for boosted cars?

Cool, thanks for all the info guys :) . And $400 isn't that much (not as much as I thought anyway). I always thought $600-$880+.

Sorry to steal the answer :)

You won't benefit from more fuel, unless you can get more air in there.

Injectors are $450-550.

Here is a good start -http://www.roadtrackrally.com.au/store/engine/injector-dynamics.html

Sean he wants an engine clean out tune hence why stock injectors are fine for that purpose

185Kw@wheels at 4800rpm is nothing too sneeze at but in all seriousness, BBB is not exactly A 5000+RPM guy as he loves the 2000rpm to 4800rpm punch on the VF46

No injectors needed, have plenty of flow for E85. Not even hitting 90% duty cycle

Not even 90% on what level boost?

Given this refers to an N/A H6, not much! :)
