Is this filling up around 60ltrs?

If it is, let's say 98 costed you around $1.50/ltr as an average, one tank of 98 is costing you 60 x $1.5 = $90

You need 1.3 tanks of E85 to equal 1 tank of 98 (520/400 = 1.3), and if it costs an average of $1.10/ltr, it costs you 60 x 1.3 x $1.10 = $85.80 for the same distance of driving.

So by that calculation (and your driving) it would cost fractionally less to run E85...or let's say it costs about the same based on current prices...

It would be the heavy foot and enjoying the extra power with E85 that would blow the cost differences out of the water

so in terms of cost per liter and km's per tank, are you saying it is or isnt worth it?

Geez Simon read I mentioned it in my post! Based on the same driving distance it costs him $90 on 98, and $85.80 with E85.

Lean off those CL fuel targets. Check with an EGT probe if you want, but "light foot" on E85 should yield better than that.

Definitely

My 400 is with a pretty heavy foot every now and again

When we had our track day, I did 650kms out of 100litres

Which includes the five sessions of five laps at marulan foot to the floor

And the drive there and back and then to garage88

I checked with Sucrogen in Port Melbourne today about storage. They say E85 can be safely stored in any container that is certified for use with Petrol.

I guess that means any of the red plastic or metal jerry cans from Autobarn or SCA.

I am also looking into a pump to assist with transfer from 20lt to tank. Any suggestions?
