Hey,

my set of STI quads arrives tomorrow morning. Just wondering how hard it is to actually change the exhaust tips? Is this something I would need to get a shop to do, or do you guys think I could do it myself. Had a search nd couldnt really find instructions or anything?

(I have a MY08 sedan).

Are you looking to swap out the mufflers or just the muffler tips? Mufflers is just x4 bolts and x4 hangers while tips will require cutting and welding.

(Edit - Opps, only x4 hangers!)

4 bolts, 4 hangers and 15 minutes. Recommend you lube the rubber hanger grommets with a bit of soapy water as this will help you get the hangers off the rubber grommets easily and allow you to slip the new ones back in.

Not being smart ass, this is a serious question, why would I remove the tips if ive got the whole muffler? Do you recommend this or something? Do STI even sell tips by themselves? and whats a hangar

The tips are welded on. Your initial post wasn't exactly clear.

Not being smart ass, this is a serious question, why would I remove the tips if ive got the whole muffler? Do you recommend this or something? Do STI even sell tips by themselves? and whats a hangar

The hanger is the piece the rubber is attached to (or the rubber bit depending who you ask). Mate, it's an easy job if you have a couple of simple tools and a jack or car stands. You might be able to do it without these but it'd be a pain in the ass then for sure. If you get stuck send me a pm and we can work something out. I just installed a cat back system on my own in my garage so can lend you a hand if need be.

I wasn't sure if you wanted to do something with the tips as well, thus my question to clarify if you were after how to change the mufflers and/or the tips.
