Hey everyone,
Yesterday I got a raw stainless steel xforce catback exhaust on my 06 2.5i liberty and noticed that the catalytic converter seems to be hanging down too much, I’m not sure but I was hoping one of yous could help. My car was is sitting about 104mm from the ground as it’s on coilovers but now with this catalytic converter it’s sitting about 70mm from the ground so obviously illegal. I’m not really wanting to lift my car so I’m in a bit of a pickle. If I can’t raise the catalytic any higher then I’ll need to get rid of the exhaust all together.

Question: is it normal for the catalytic converter to be hanging that far down?

I’m new to all this so be easy on me

*i can’t seem to attached a picture, I’ll keep trying after this post is posted.

Did you get all the exhaust hangers fitted?
One trick is to undo all the bolts, prop up the exhaust, then redo the bolts.

+1.. I agree with Ben.. Undo all the bolts, make sure you have used all the hangers, then lift the exhaust at the lowest part and while it is up there, re-tighten all the bolts.. It should stay up high.. It's a bit hard to do when your car is soo low but that is the first thing you can do to try and fix it..
