So usual story I would like to achieve the Subaru rumble on my RX2.5 and I'm aware that UEL headers will kill a little HP on the N/A motors but the car is already pretty slow so it may as well sound good. I have read that Gen 1 UEL headers will fit an EJ25 if both are dual port. My car is a 2000 model so would it be dual port? Ill have a look when I pick it up to be sure. I've also read that on some on gens after the gen 1 the headers come up a bit short where the cat connects and others say they fit straight up. Has anyone put gen 1 headers on their gen 3 and had to lengthen them to fit up to the cat? Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah, they'll fit the heads but you will need to make modifications to the rest of the exhaust.
