Ultrex UEL Headers

Hey guys has anyone had much to do with the Ultrex headers at all? I'm looking at new headers and also a new pump and saw this as a cheaper option, any other opinions or options to choose from would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a Liberty Gt wagon 2007 Spec B with a 3 inch catback to a stock dump pipe would this bolt straight on?
Thanks a heap guys,

Nick

Why do you need new headers?

Standard UEL headers on the 2007 - 2009 GTB model's flow quite well and don't need to be upgraded until reaching high power, 250+awkw.

Is it for the sound? Because the stock even length headers don't produce that typical Boxer Rumble.
I don't have experience with any UEL headers, but I do prefer the sound they make (even if it is supposed to be less efficient).

Tom i'm not really sure what your asking? Your car is a Post face lift model...

Preface 04-06MY Libs have Equal length twin scroll headers, Post face 07-09MY Libs have Un-equal length single scroll headers.

Its the Un-equal length headers that produce the "Subie Rumble" as it produces uneven exhaust pulses between the engine banks (left Vs Right).

Equal length headers allow for proper exhaust port scavenging, this is why they are said to be better. The reality is that the headers will never really truly be equal length, and in most cases limited mainly by the turbo anyways.
No point upgrading the headers unless your going for a big turbo setup, as the turbo is a restriction aswell ;)

Thanks for the explanation Sean. I thought going to Ultrex Headers would change the sound. But since you mentioned PostFL cars already have UEL, the difference would probably be minimal.
