They certainly look the same tips bit different in design but concerned that flow was designed for 3ltr and GT post lifts may have had different properties

Similar peak torque at similar rpm, same peak power at similar rpm.

Haha yes

The Sti mufflers are same design too, but is there any proof these flow better than stock GTB mufflers ?

They won;t flow much better if any
just sound different due to the second exit pipe which reaches to the front chamber.
resonance is changed so they sound different
