Exhaust place in Melb - Dump pipe purchase / install

Postby Tien GtB25 » Mon Nov 10, 2014 9:07 pm

Hi guys,

Been reading up on threads on dump pipe best suited for My08 Auto SpecB lib and the best fit are Invidia and AVO. Im looking for exhaust place in Melbourne that you guys have used in the past to order and install. Not too crazy about ordering from Prospeed, TCP and etc.... old school ... cash is king !

Looking to get this dump fitted just before meeting up with Matt from KT for retune in mid Dec. Pierburg boost solenoid is coming late this month.
Im in Melb South East but will not be a problem if on the other side of town.

I drove 2 hrs each way to have the basic tune from KT after work on day 3 of owning the car ..so driving will not be a problem.
Thanks in advance.

I have always had excellent results from
Trufit Exhaust Pty Ltd
Brake & Clutch Services
435 Warrigal Rd, Moorabbin, VIC 3189
03 9532 3134

They aren't some 'omg it does fit' shop - they are happy to fabricate anything required, always excellent.

I haven't been there for a few years, but I always went there with my 180sx.

Why drive for 2 hours, when we have the best right here in the SE! :)

Hallam Performance Exhaust, ask for Barney. He's done a lot of the libs on this forum with great results. You'll have to source the Invidia/AVO/TCP (tcp don't do an auto dump) yourself, unless you want a custom pipe made.

In terms of Barney's skills/work quality...don't be afraid to ask for complicated things, I don't think there's anything he can't do with a welder and steel piping. They do great custom exhausts too (lots of custom hot rods/mustangs etc) :D

Thank you both.

I will visit them on the weekend and see.
Hopefully the dump install alone will not make the car any louder.
I know I should also replace the the stock mufflers too to improve the flow, however i have to wait and see... noisy car is for attracting attention.... im too old for that shitz.

I had a turbo back into stock mufflers and it was not loud at all. The turbo back will add a bit of noise but most of the noise will come from after market mufflers. Im not aware of any after market mufflers which will be as quiet as the stockies so your best option is finding a set of STI quads.

Varex mufflers are as quiet as stock when closed. And as free flowing as a straight pipe when opened :)
