completing the exhaust 3.0rb which parts are best?

Postby Kegalicious » Thu May 01, 2014 10:43 am

I have a 2007 3.0rb wagon auto located in canberra.
I have already installed an x-force mild steel catback system and am looking to do the rest.

I found that the stainless steel headers were almost $700 cheaper so who could pass on that.

I am now not sure if I should go with stainless or mild for the cats.. there is not much in price difference so that is nothing but if someone who knows exhausts knows that one is going to have more value I'm all ears.

They are both magnaflow just what I have found if anyone knows of better brands or parts please share :)

I can't find any info on the cel/cpsi rating for the ceramic one. The metal one is 200cel/cpsi, which is pretty good. I'd say that from the same vendor, the more expensive one is better (so probably flows better), it's the one I'd pick given the relatively small price difference.

These are what I'd be getting in the 2.25inch inlet and 100 cpsi.

I've had Magnaflow and they just don't flow well. :(

what is the biggest difference in the 200 and 100 cell besides the less cells so presumably better flow?
Cheers, Keegan. :)

The lower the cels or cpsi figure, the better the flow (in general).

That Venom site states that you can't get ceramic lower than 400cpsi - if that's true and you stick to the maganflow, you'd want the steel one.

That said, the Magnaflow was 200cpsi, and Venom have a 100cpsi that would suit, so assuming you're happy with the cost, the Venom seems the better product.

Do you think that if I had the venom 100cells it would be too loud just cruising on the highway. Everything I read on forums and reviews just contradict each other, so confusing haha. Cheers.

The cats will make very little, if any, difference to any droning or loudness whilst cruising. That's best managed by muffler and resonator choice.
