Need that Subaru Rumble:)

Postby Glaze88 » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:50 pm

Hi Guys,

I just bought a 2006 Liberty TBS in an Auto. I am wanting to get that Subaru rumble that the boxer engine gives:)

My car has been tuned and feel light and very quick, so I do not want to jeopardise losing that when mucking around with the exhaust.

What do you recommend is the easiest, cheapest and best way to get the rumble without changing factory tips?

Thx

Rumble = Unequal length Headers.

Your car has equal length headers, 2007 onwards GT had the unequal headers.

To change your headers you would also need to change your turbo I think, because of it being a twin scroll setup. So headers + Turbo + dump pipe to get the "boxer rumble".

^^^ This

Although I am able to achieve the boxer note with just a cat back quite nicely. I can only imagine the note will improve again with a dump pipe. Oh and yes, I do have an 07 face lift model. :mrgreen:

As Kieran said, you'll need new headers, turbo, dump pipe, TMIC and tune at the very least. Not a cheap excercise
