aftermarket mid pipe

Postby 2ltrGT » Sat Feb 08, 2014 6:33 pm

Hey Guys!

This is my first post so I'm sorry if its in the wrong place and sorry if it seems like a silly question :D

Anyway i have a 2 litre GT and its stock (performance wise) and i was browsing good old gumtree and came across a 3" aftermarket mid pipe to suit a liberty for a $100.. but, I'm worried that if i keep the stock y-pipe and rear mufflers it might create some sort of back pressure issue or send a sensor haywire.. so if there was someone that knows a little about exhausts could you please help me out! it would be really appreaciated :D

Hopefully someone with more experience on the 2.0 GT can answer but I would have thought replacing the mid-pipe only won't harm anything but probably isn't worth doing on its own. Better off focusing on the dump pipe first. Also you may find the aftermarket mid pipe doesn't bolt straight up and will cost you more to get fitted and modified at the exhaust shop. You could ask the owner if they had it bolted to a stock exhaust.
