I must have got lucky with my dump as I didn't have to modify my heat shield to make it fit.. I did notch it slightly to fit the new turbo in but its such a small trim nobody would ever notice.

yeah its not required for the x-force as the cat is down in a lower position.

Can you confirm if the turbo xs dump is suitable for autos? Or will modification be required for it to fit?
Cheers

Well there you go. I learnt something today. I just presumed all dumps were the same or similar.

The turboXS also has the CAT at a lower position but the bellmouth transition is quite generous and I don't believe the stock shield would fit without some modification. I did attempt to fit but be honest I only had a quick test because I had decided I didn't want to cut it at all. If you look at these photos you will get the picture.

I just think the DIY heatshield is worth sharing with others who either don't have their original or want to maintain it untouched. I did too many small mods on my old wagon that turned into big mods so it would be impossible to ever put it back the same as how I bought it. I decided when I bought this car to make no mods I couldn't easily undo. Personal choice .

Shav I don't know mate. I am not sure what is different with the auto fitment but if it is just the angle of the pipe to allow for the wider transmission my linked photos may help.

I am very happy I installed this dump. It definitely improved performance and if I ever upgrade turbos it will make all the difference. I couldn't be happier with the sound of this setup with STI muffs. The dump gives a slightly deeper note on idle and noticeably throatier on full noise - I think this is moreso the stainless. Sounded a bit tinny to begin with but has mellowed to a very nice note. Expect some little pops on gear changes at WOT with the high flow cat. Could just be the tune.
