ultrex is much cheaper than hks & fujitsubo, do you rekon its good to go with?

It's not bad, the only issues is they can be very fiddly to get them to fit. Will require 2 people to adjust and help get it in position. But once bolted up, its in and looks decent.

It just depends on what you are expecting. Ultrex are probably the cheapest on the market, and I know you can get better made/higher quality out there for higher price, but for what you pay, I didnt think it was too bad, and I was quite happy with the note and DB levels the system gave. Its not balls out in your face noisy. It resembles a WRX boxer note which I love. But after 2 weeks of letting it all settle and carbon up, the DB levels are a lot quieter. Once the dump gets fitted though I expect the DB levels to creep up again.

Thank you very much for your advise Shav :)

I agree that probably is the best option for small budget people :)

I am about to do this (though I'll be changing to a VF52 at the same time, but I don't think that will impact the sound levels).

Anytime. Im no expert, I can only comment on my experiences, but as you said, for those on a budget and and still wanting stainless steel, it's hard to pass up.

Let us know how you go.

Bugger.

Perhaps a full TBE system from Best Mufflers is the way to go? They have an Xforce system available at a comparable price

That is a great price on the x force!

Full "bolt on" sysems can be annoying to fit. I'd budget a good exhaust shop to fit it. If it's a direct bolt on as they advertise - it'll cost you an extra $50 and be set up right. If it's not a direct bolt on, at least you wouldn't have wasted your time finding out.

Thats what I ended up doing for my Ultrex. Paid someone else to do it and I didnt have to deal with the headaches. It's worth allowing that extra into your exhaust budget for it.

* Notes Totally stock exhaust system. Stock airbox (resonator removed, silicon SFB & turbo intake hoses).

I've put this in here because I couldn't find a stock system that people could compare with. I will also be posting updates as I upgrade my exhaust (Invidia downpipe will be first, along with a VF52 upgrade).
