I had some damage done to my exhaust recently. Insurance is offering me either a new catback system from subaru (the stock standard mild steel job that is already on the car, but slightly damaged) or an xforce catback stainless system. The guy that will be doing the job said it wont be much louder than stock, which I find it hard to believe after hearing some of the videos on here? The xforce option is about $1000 cheaper and 6 weeks quicker for them. What do you guys think of these options? I couldn't get more details on the xforce because the guy didn't know to much more about it...

I'd get the Xforce simply because it's more desirable.
If you don't like the sound sell off the Xforce and for about $100 you can buy a stock system from a wreckers. You'll come away with a profit.

2001 Subaru N/A Liberty -2.25" catback, with a 'hotdog' resonator -3" tip.. I think? First clip with original OEM headers Second with the Rep UEL headers. Boxer note. Sounds amazing in person imo. Sorry about the really bad iphone quality recording.

listened those post videos, but those sounds really confused me, maybe I'm insensitive with sounds, could not find the different
I have a 2010 liberty GT and I am very happy with the quiet engine, recently thinking about tune the ECU and also the TBE, and I am looking for a quiet TBE for daily drive ( sounds on high rev is fine, but on low rev I will prefer it keeps quiet), one of my friend suggest " ultrex performance" which I don't see it in the list, any other advise from experts?

From what I've heard... the Ultrex systems are quite loud, and dronish. If you're after a nice subtle system, I reckon go for a Fujitsubo or HKS system... from what I have heard... those systems give the necessary growls down low, but barks up high.

I have an Ultrex CBE and after the exhaust carbons up, the DB level dropped heaps. I sometime barely hear the car now.

ultrex is much cheaper than hks & fujitsubo, do you rekon its good to go with?
