Exhaust modifications

Postby Arith » Tue Apr 08, 2008 6:41 pm

Have updated the post with Eka's (lib33rty) HKS Silent Hi-Power catback installed today by the very gracious Phat GT.

A big thanks and much appreciation to Michael. Hope that case of beer we gave you doesn't turn you into a raging alcoholic. :alcoholic:

Hey James, that's just the HiTech mufflers only. But I'm sure whether muffler, catback, or turbo back, it's all same same.

cool. that sounds sweet! I take it you had an aftermarket BOV as well

cheers

Just the direct bolt hybrid one from Go Fast Bits. Otherwise my car is all stock.

Clip from Mo's 05 GT with Fujitsubo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPudsZLUZTc

and his new 07 with same exhaust

If anyone can post recordings whilst driving so you can hear what it's like when cruising / thrashing, that would also be great to compare...

Thanks for that! Yeah, I've been trying to find time to do a 'drive by' or a 'take off from standstill' recording.

I think he may have meant a recording from inside the cabin while driving to check cruising noise.

Just checking we are all on the same page :)

Haha. Gotcha. Although people are still interested in both how the exhaust sounds on the inside (drone, buzzing, deafness, etc) as well as the outside ("Hey, that sounds like a Rex" or "That was so loud that small child was knocked off his bike").

Managed to sneak over to Pete's (blacknwhite) house to record his new HiTech mufflers. Very nice! Gotta love that burble!

And for some reason, a lot quieter inside the cabin. Damn you!

I've updated the front page with another clip of blacknwhite's HiTechs, this time with a Phat GT dump pipe and custom 3" center pipe:

I've also picked up the K2 Gear Spec-Neo exhaust, which has the single tip rather than the quad tips:
