STi Quads or Genome Cannons

Postby Adrian2627 » Sun Sep 22, 2013 10:49 am

I've got a set of STI Quads and a set of Gernome Cannons. They both sound nice but has anyone ever done a full exhaust with them and done dyno figures? I'm trying to figure which will flow the best given a full exhaust as I don't have access to a dyno at the moment.

I'd hazard a guess and say the Genomes would flow better. IIRC the STi quads are the same internal muffler design as the OEM mufflers, just with different tips.

I've never cut any up to see but you could well be right. How well do the STi mufflers flow? Has anyone ever really tried to test them? The Genomes are a monstrous of a muffler and very obvious. They sound nice. Haven't had a chance to get the car on the highway yet to see if they drone as it's getting detailed, coated, and a couple of little things sorted by the dealer this week.

I want to keep it fairly quiet, with a nice tone but still flow reasonably well. I'm chasing torque over top end power so absolute flow isn't a top priority.
