Tweaking the X-Force on my n/a 07

Hey hey.

So I have an X-Force Mild Steel system - 2 ½” Center Pipe with Hotdog. 2 ¼” Y Pipe into 2 Mufflers with 3” Tips.

I'm really enjoying the sound it gives the car but want that little more loudness when giving it some.
So I rang 'A Muffler Mart' near my work at Rocklea and the bloke suggested I get the Hotdog Resonator in the Center Pipe removed and replaced with a straight through pipe. He also said that should give a bit better burble sound also.

Has anyone done this little adjustment on their exhaust before with good results ? Or can confirm this would give me that little louder sound plus burble I'm after ?

Stop teasing him, they aren't available anymore :( I also have a set.

You won't get burble no matter what mufflers you have, you need UEL headers as the stock EL headers sound like a honda. If you remove your centre muffler I dare say your exhaust will become raspy and droney.

My budget is unfortunately always low, so buying quads or UEL headers is something that is way off. I do plan in the headers though :)
That's why taking the hotdog out seems better for the shirt term because its a cheap mod. Dam money!

Sorry to come to this party late guys... Have been MIA from the forums lately... I've done this mod Jayradd. Replaced the biggest resonator with a straight through 3" pipe. Does sound louder and awesome... And gives a bit more burble over 3,000rpms. Cost me $100. :D

But also what Zach says is true also... That's why I always like shifting just above 3,500rpm to maintain that slight burble.. Raspy and droney... Not too much... Or maybe I'm just used to it now. 8)

Thanks for the input d-Chang :) I was quoted $80, cheap mod.
I'm thinking I'll just do it :) I'll keep the hotdog, can always put it back in if the droning is too much. I'll update on how it goes.
