2005 liberty GT, chasing a decent exhaust rumble?

Just wondering what my options are for a recent exhaust rumble?
Is it possible to achieve with a cat back exhaust system?
Or do I require turbo back or engine mods etc.

I set of mufflers should see a good note, however the twin scroll turbo GT's have a different note to the usual boxer rumble due to their headers.
Also worth noting that if the car is an automatic, you may gain some drone. Although unlikely with only a set of mufflers.

Edit: there is a full thread for different exhaust notes, it has many youtube clips of different setups. Searchy search for nom noms!

That's my old 05 Liberty GT that's full TBE though.

like stated above there's multiple threads on how it's virtually impossible to get that boxer rumble without investing some serious $$$

Your just not going to get the rumble with GT unfortunately due to the twin scroll setup.

You can get them sounding nice though.

I personally like the note the libGT's come with standard now. If anything a slight increase in db level is all I'd ever want. The note & pitch is just right I reckon.

Go the mufflers and if possible, post up a sound file of the car with the new mufflers fitted after about a week (to allow the mufflers to carbon up)

hey mate.. not sure if this will help you with an 05 (equal length headers)

but here is what mine sounds like with just a pair of rear mufflers and the middle muffler cut out..

the video doesnt capture the bass of it.. IMO, if you want just a bit more noise.. do what i did.. it sounds loud enough without being obnoxious and keeps the nice note..

also, no drone what so ever..

Yep sounds wicked!
Stomps: did the mid bit get the cut before, or after the muffs were upgraded?
I'm wondering which had the greater effect.

Totally agree. That sounds really nice man, for just a muffler cutout and a couple of new ones! Hmmmm, food for thought, nice sound. 8)
