Where to find cheap & decent dump pipe for 2007 GT Lib wagon

Postby Sheik Jabooti » Fri Apr 27, 2012 12:54 pm

Dump pipes are damned expensive.

Can someone suggest a brand or supplier where I can get a decent (not gold plated) dump pipe under $500?!?

Thanks.
Started with a Gen2 Outback, then got a MY07 GT Spec.B Manual w Cat Back Exhaust and Verso Tuned, now got 2 kids and a MY07 GT Auto Wagon, Ultrex stealth back exhaust, panel filter, Whiteline Sways all round, Spec.b struts and springs and Kido-Tuned.

That's not expensive for a dump with a cat.

Try modding a euro.

'Cheap and decent'

Two words that generally don't belong in a sentence, unless it's second hand

I was thinking the exact same thing Sean.

Michael (Phat GT) makes an excellent dump pipe for these engines, shoot him an e-mail and see if he has any in stock.

Cheers,
Rusty.

Phat doesn't stock any down pipes, If you are willing to pay then he will make one for you and get it delivered in 10days.

I returned one of his 2.5ltr dumps a couple of months back, so David could possibly shoot him an e-mail to see if he still has this one in stock.

Cheers,
Rusty.

you sure it was couple of months??? as I remember he had one up for sale in Dec from QLD region.

But, Phat has nothing ATM and moreover he doesn't sell any used parts, we met last week so I'm damn sure. Shoot him an email only if you are damn serious, otherwise you are wasting his time and he never replies any future emails. Moreover, the OP is not interested in any down pipes which is over $500 and with gold plated, the only option for him is XF (mild steel under $500), but they got mild gold plated on the flanges. doesn't looks like he'll be interested in XF now. :o

Mate,

Go and see Doug and the Guys at Stechnic.
ask how much to fabricate one for you.
it's only two flanges, a couple of mandrel bends and some pipe, plus an o2 bung
forget the cat in the dump.. do you even have the EPA in WA..?

Even with the cat you still get the cel for cat out of efficiency occasionally, without the cat I reckon you'll have your sports and cruise lights flashing at you constantly until you're able to alter the parameters or delete the code entirely.

I sent it back at the end of January.
He asked me to hold it for a while to see if he could get a local Brisbane buyer for it.
He advertised it for $850 delivered or $830 pick up, but as no one seemed keen for it at the time I returned it to him.
So if David is keen for a decent DP, Michael may still have this one on hand.

Cheers,
Rusty.

Thanks for the comments. Phat's stuff is kinda premium so out of my price range. It's sounding like XForce may be the go. Also rang ultrex and they can source one for under $600.

Will also give S technic a call to see the options there.

If Ultrex can source one for under $600 then thats the way to go, As XF down pipe doesn't fit Auto liberty.
Michael had Russell's DP but it got sold while ago. :(
