Xforce TBE System

Anyone have any advice on choice of exhaust. At the moment, I am planning to take car to MSR whereby Michael will install an xforce TBE system. Has anyone else got this set up or heard this set up on a subaru liberty. How does it fare up against other exhaust systems??

x-force system is pretty loud on a Liberty, IMO more suited to a WRX. The TCP mufflers produce a nice rumble, but it's toned down from a traditional WRX burble.

Hey Mate, I'm the x force vendor on here and have the x force center and Y pipe on my 05 GT, I have a HKS dump and the varex mufflers.

The x force center and Y pipes are great but,
I would recommend against getting the x force mufflers as they are loud and droney.
The TCP quad tip mufflers and a perfect fit and are a much nicer note.

A great bang for buck set up is
Phat Dump (copy of the HKS dump) I think around $700, but am not 100% sure.
X force center and Y pipe (huge 14" resonator for zero drone) $550
TCP mufflers (looks identical to the STI mufflers but with a great note) $650

Is there a video of this set-up?

How do you think it would sound with stock STI mufflers?

I was at MSR last Wednesday with XForce TBE mated to HiTech mufflers.
It probably doubled the volume of the exhaust and I have since replaced the muffler with the stock GT-B and interestingly made more power mid-range even though it tapers off a bit earlier up high.

I have an auto wagon though so YMMV.

Actually there is this legal question about the de-catted dump ...

I'm thinking about doing the same thing: Xforce TBE and TCP mufflers.

What I was wondering thought is, is it worth buying the TCP mufflers or just pairing up the STI mufflers to the Xforce system?

Anyone done/tested this? Are there any significant power or torque gains to be made by swapping the STI mufflers out for TCP, when matched with an Xforce system?

EDIT: just spoke to Michael South and he said he was able to make more power recently out of a GT-B by using the stock STI mufflers, instead of TCP's.

Hey all

I have the XForce system for my 2.0R, I chose it straight out of the catalogue as it was the only s/steel system made for the Liberty. When it came to fit the exhaust though.... because the system was actually made for 2007-09 model, the front half didn't fit on the car. It seems that the 2004-06 has 2 catalytic convertors or 1 catalytic converter and 1 resonator, so the boxed XForce unit wasn't a straight fit to the car, I couldn't use the centre pipe or the hotdog. So my system starts from the said catalytic converter to the tip. Despite the minor complication, car sounds really nice still, quieter than most other exhausts until you give it some. On idle, you just hear a slight growl.

I recently installed an Invidia cat back system on my GT.

The big quad pipes look awesome but the sound is a lot louder than i was hoping for. It was reasonably easy to install however they don't give you any instructions or tips for the install.

The mufflers are a snug fit and found it hard to keep them from touching the bumpers. It smelt slightly like burning plastic for 2 weeks but i couldn't see where it was coming from.

The bolts that came for the joint onto the standard system wouldn't fit through the factory holes so i had to use the factory bolts which are bit too long without the springs. I couldn't get a good seal with the bolts up as tight and i can hear a slight exhaust leak. I'm not too concerned as i'm fitting the Invidia down pipe this weekend (after changing the steering column knuckle to the thinner STI version).

if i had my time again, i would have bought a quieter system.

Mines got the full Xforce system. It`s a bit loud for my liking.
