Exhaust opinions?

Postby climic » Sat Nov 12, 2011 12:05 pm

Didnt know where to put this post thought it would be the best place..

I have a 2.5i 07 model, and I'm looking to putting a exhaust system on it soon. I'm after a deep smooth note.

i.e I like the sound of the phat gt quads, HiTech, K2. ( quad tips  )

And What size centre, y-pipe? 2.5? Also what brands would you recommended.?

If you know of anyone selling please post.

All of the exhaust i've looked at are for GT or STi tuned... Bit hard to find a 2.5i video because there are not many? So I know that sound will change

Devour get's a pretty nice note out of his 07 2.5i just with phat quads and stock centre, of course it's equal length headers but it still sounds nice.
But he does lose some bottom end power compared to stock, but gains more in the high end or something like that.

Good luck with the K2's, probably run you about $2000 just for the mufflers.

Nope, have to keep a keen eye on the for sale thread to pick up a set.
You could try the TCP mufflers for $650, I'm not sure of anyone who has them on a 2.5i but they sound decent on the turbo's so I don't see why it wouldn't sound nice on an NA. They look very nice also.

You could get a centre if you wanted, the TCP cat-back would be great and it's pretty easy on the wallet.

Keep an eye out for HiTech mufflers. I have them on my 2.0R and they are great.
I have a youtube clip in the exhaust soind clips thread.

My mate also had the on his 2.5i. He didnt experience any powerloss down low and got a bit of a gain throughout the rev range, as did I

They can also be bought new for about $1100ish

Hey mate, not sure why someone didn't let you know already, but I'm a vendor for the x force cat backs on here, center and Y pipes go for $500, great buy. I tell people to go the tcp quads over the x force mufflers as the TCP's are not as loud, sound nicer and looks 100x better.
PM me if you would like anymore details/postage quote, ect. :)

Yeah sounds like a deal! How good are the x force pipes? And how big are they?

X force are great, full mandrel bent stainless steal, comes it turbo 3" or NA 2.25" option, shares the same stock flanges for easy bolt on install and sits up nice and high under the car so your not scraping it over speedhumps ect. Big 10" resonator on the center pipe so no drone.

I have the X force center and Y on my GT paired with a HKS dump and varex mufflers, couldn't be happier.

Yep. TCP also shares the same stock flange, so straight bolt on. I offer installs if your in Adelaide, but most people are Melb or Sydney. I will pm you tonight to get some details off you :).
